Presentation
Ruffiac is a small village nestled in a quiet, peaceful setting amidst lush green valleys. Its inhabitants are called the Ruffiacais. The commune covers an area of 12.8 km² and has a population of 175 since the last census. With a density of 13.6 inhabitants per km², Ruffiac’s population has increased by 17.4% since 1999. Surrounded by the communes of Poussignac, Cours-les-Bains and Antagnac, Ruffiac is located 1 km northwest of Poussignac, the largest town in the area. Situated at an altitude of 115 meters, the Ruisseau du Mayne Néou and the Ruisseau du Trône are the main rivers running through Ruffiac. The commune is close to the Landes de Gascogne regional natural park.
