Presentation
Heritage: 15th century Church of St-Caprais, 12th century Church of St-Hilaire de Lusignan, in Cavagnan, Château Malvirade: 15th and 17th century Renaissance listed Historic Monument.
The commune is the result of the 1840 merger of the communes of Grézet and Cavagnan. Château Malvirade: there was only one tower, built by order of Eleanor of Aquitaine. The rest of the buildings were erected in the second half of the 15th century. A century later, Malvirade would become one of Henry de Navarre’s houses, and would experience the eight Wars of Religion.
Basketball, soccer, tennis, volleyball… since July 2024, Grézet-Cavagnan has been equipped with a multi-sports field, just a stone’s throw from the village hall. This new infrastructure, with free access, enables everyone to practice sporting activities with no constraints, apart from the weather! It’s a real place to meet and socialize within the community.
