Today, more than ever, rural areas possess the necessary strengths to tackle the major challenges of our society\u2014be they social, environmental, or economic.<\/p>\n

Coteaux et Landes de Gascogne confirms its position as a dynamic, innovative region, ready to take on projects that meet the needs and expectations of its population and beyond.<\/p>\n

Indeed, it would be a mistake to consider today that large urban areas should continue to impose themselves on the basis of a development model that is now outdated, and would only aggravate the situation we’re in today.<\/p>\n

Harmonious regional planning means finding the right balance between rural and urban development. It’s the only way forward! <\/p>\n

OUR HERITAGE, AN ATTRACTIVE AND DYNAMIC LIVING SPACE<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The elected representatives of Coteaux et Landes de Gascogne are at the forefront of the battle to find the right balance, which the “Climate and Resilience” law and its local application with the ZAN (zero net artificialisation) law, as they currently stand, jeopardize by undermining rurality in favor of increasingly dense and unliveable megacities.<\/p>\n

Against this iniquitous law, our community of communes has made the bold choice to reaffirm its determination to pursue dynamic economic development and rational urbanization. The ambitious projects we are undertaking in a number of economic fields are a testament to our attractiveness, which is rare for a region of our size. <\/p>\n

Today, we have every reason to be optimistic about the future, but we must remain vigilant, determined and active to bring this essential transformation to a successful conclusion, for the benefit of our citizens and our entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n

You can count on all the elected representatives and employees of our community, who work hard every day to strengthen our appeal, enhance our cultural and natural heritage and make our region a pleasant place to live, conducive to attracting new tourist, craft, commercial and industrial activities, which are essential to economic development.<\/p>\n
