Presentation
Heritage: 18th-century château (private), listed as a historic monument in 1978 for its facades and roofs, Romanesque church rebuilt in 1895: statue of the Virgin and Child (late 18th century), St-Sauveur church (17th century), 7 mills (private), town hall in renovated former presbytery.
The territory was detached, along with Fourques-sur-Garonne, from the parish of Caumont in 1792. It was separated from the commune of Fourques in 1857 to form the present-day commune. The parish church of Sainte-Marthe dates back to antiquity, with traces of an ancient sanctuary dating back to 977, on which the present church was rebuilt in 1895. There are 7 mills in the commune, the last of which ceased operating in 1962.
