Since January 1, 2024, in accordance with European law and the 2020 anti-waste law, the sorting of biowaste has been generalized and concerns all professionals and private individuals. That’s why the government is supporting local authorities in implementing solutions for citizens, and reminding professionals of their obligations.

Several shared composting sites are already in operation in :

  • Casteljaloux: next to the post office, behind the cinema and opposite the swimming pool
  • Romestaing: sorting area route Gilbert Caubet
  • Houeillès: Before the Gaillarsolles waste collection center
  • Sauméjan: D157 sorting area

Access to composting sites is subject to registration (see information on the site).
